It\u2019s worth taking the time to get\nestimates from several different companies and compare packages. Try to get\nyour move quoted in one of three ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Binding estimate<\/strong>: binding estimates are\nwhen movers guarantee a fixed cost based on the mileage or approximate weight\nof your belongings. As long as you don\u2019t add extra items, the final price\nshould match your quote. While you don\u2019t have to worry about the pricing being\nraised at the last minute, you won\u2019t be able to pay less if your final weight\nis less than your estimate.<\/li><li><strong>Nonbinding estimate<\/strong>: nonbinding estimates\nare based on the mileage or weight of your belongings but the final price is\nnot locked in and can change depending on the final weight of the move. You can\nend up with a higher-than-expected final bill.<\/li><li><strong>Binding Not-to-Exceed<\/strong>: a binding\nnot-to-exceed estimate is similar to the binding estimate. While you won\u2019t be\ncharged for exceeding your approximate weight, you can pay less if your final\nweight was less than the quoted weight.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Resist the temptation to base your decision solely on the\nquoted price. Research and read online reviews for prospective movers. Also\nread all of the paperwork \u2013 including the fine print, to avoid unexpected\nexpenses or scams. Get everything in writing and only sign an estimate when you\nfeel confident in your choice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Move during the week<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Choosing <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.moving.com\/tips\/when-is-the-best-time-to-move\/\">the right time to move<\/a> can make or break your budget.  <br>May to August is peak moving season and on the weekends so demand tends to be higher.
