Being more eco-friendly can be really daunting, but remember that you don&#8217;t have to make ALL the changes overnight.  Start with one change that sounds like the easiest for you and go from there.  Remember, every little bit helps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are a few easy ideas to up your eco-friendly cred:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Less Mail<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ditch the paper and pay your bills online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lighting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Switch to LED lights.  LEDs use less energy and last longer than incadescent lighting.  Not only are they kinder to the environment, but they will also save you money on your energy bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shower Time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Replace those plastic bodywash bottles with bar soap. (There are also  shampoo and conditioner bars available, if you&#8217;re feeling ambitious!). Can&#8217;t give up your favorite bodywash?  Then try swapping that synthetic loofah\/sponge for a natural loofah\/sponge. (There are also natural loofah\/sponge options for the kitchen!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don&#8217;t dilly-dally in the shower just because that warm water feels nice on your skin.  You can save up to 150 gallons of water per month by simply shortening your shower by only one minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cold Water<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a super easy (and cheap) idea! Simply choose the cold water setting on your washing machine.  A lot of the energy a washing machine uses goes towards heating water. Using the cold water setting has multiple benefits &#8211; a.) Reduce your energy footprint.  b.) Lower your energy bill. c.) Lengthen the life of your garments (washing on cold helps prevent fading and shrinkage).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Towels<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Try to use paper towels more sparingly.  Opt for a cold air dryer when available.  Since most of us don&#8217;t have hand dryers at home, go for a cotton towel instead of a paper one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cleaning Products<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Natural cleaning products are effective and they don&#8217;t contain harmful chemicals that are bad for the environment and your health.
